Mail call is often one of the best moment of the day, even if the mail carrier has only left a used paperback or two in the box. But some days are truly golden, especially when a perfect surprises like this arrives.

50 Years of Television Westerns, is now my official favorite book about vintage TV westerns. It is beautifully produced with a sharp printed cover, semi-glossy interior paper, and is filled with black and white photos that pop off the page, and a passel and a half of full color pics, all accompanied by informed commentary.

It's going to take a while to read, but I'm going to savor every page...
