OWEN WISTER
&
HOW THE WEST WAS WRITTEN
Saddle up, cowpunchers. It’s Monday morning and time for a
new Six-Gun Justice Podcast Speed Listen. Owen Wister (1860-1938) is often
considered the father of western fiction because of his early novels, Lin
McLean (1897) and The Virginian (1902).
In this Speed Listen installment, co-host Rich Prosch shares
his experiences with Owen Wister and The Virginian and gives some
special attention to How The West Was Written, Ron Scheer's three-volume
collection of book reviews and blog posts.
