WESTERN WORDSLINGERS—ARNOLD HANO FOLLOW UP

WESTERN WORDSLINGERS
ARNOLD HANO FOLLOW UP
Along with the Western novelette O’Rourke, which Arnold Hano had published in Argosy December 1954—which he talks about on the latest Six-Gun Justice Speed Listen—he also had other articles and short stories published in Argosy along with other Men's Adventure Magazines, including Male, Man’s Magazine, Real, Saga, and Guy.

In the May 1960 issue of Argosy (pictured above), Hano wrote the cover story, Ward Bond—Why He Whips Them All. In another example, Hano wrote the story The Man Who Shot Dillinger about G-Man Melvin Purvis, which was published in Real, October 1955, with artwork by Harry Schaare—provided here by Men’s Adventure Magazine maven Bob Deis... (http://www.menspulpmags.com/).

Bob also provided another example from Saga, March 1963—You Kill, We Kill—with art by Thomas Beecham...

  1. Thanks for discovering that Arnold Hano is still alive and for doing that great interview with him, Paul. And thanks for the shout out! I plan to reach out to Hano myself to see if he'll let me reprint some of his men's adventure magazine stories in one of my books, or in a future issue of the MEN'S ADVENTURE QUARTERLY. Thanks again for the intro you write for the first issue, by the way. Cheers!
